Textile visions for exclusive skirts

A collaboration between ICI MAINTENANT and Jakob Schlaepfer

Here and now – the goal of local roots and a contemporary vision has been part and parcel for ICI MAINTENANT since the beginning. And this is why it quickly became clear to Tamara Stadler that, when it comes to the choice of material, Jakob Schlaepfer’s creations were the ideal medium for her idea. The former textile company employee was able to secure the support of Martin Leuthold who, as a key figure in the Swiss textile industry, transformed the St. Gallen company into a world-famous name in the areas of haute couture, prêt-à-porter and interior decoration.

Together with his design team, the creative director who won the Schweizer Grand Prix Design 2013, develops more than 1,200 designs per year. The fabrics are an amalgamation of high technology and aesthetics, and regularly position Jakob Schlaepfer as a trendsetter in the textile industry. The unique combination of meticulous craftsmanship and industrial manufacture results in a luxurious product that is unique in its exclusivity and beauty. Originally an embroidery business, Jakob Schlaepfer has continuously steered technological developments to meet its needs. Today the company works with techniques such as laser cutting and digital printing, and uses state-of-the-art embroidery machines. This approach has created a diverse range of possibilities for working with fabric.

Thanks to the close collaboration with Jakob Schlaepfer, ICI MAINTENANT customers have a unique opportunity to acquire – as affordable and highly wearable semi-couture – fabrics that would otherwise be out of their reach and available only as designs from international fashion houses like Akris, Christian Dior, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton and Vivienne Westwood.
